The China-UK Entrepreneurship Competition aims to encourage new business ventures between China and the United Kingdom and is intended to simulate the real-world process of entrepreneurs soliciting start-up funds from early-stage investors and venture capital firms. The competition is part of the PMI2 (Prime Minister Initiative II) Connect project, supported by British Council and the Confucius Institute programme funded by Hanban.
The competition is divided into two complementary tracks: Firstly, the Tomorrow’s Leaders track, open to university teams – students and post docs – both in the UK and China. And, secondly, the Innovative Business track aimed at existing businesses.
Teams will be selected to participate in this competition for:
£12,000 cash prizes
A possible free work space in London for one year provided by UEL
An investment opportunity of £250,000 for the best business plans
The opportunity to visit China to develop your idea
Initial registration, proposal submission and selection
31 May 2012 deadline; selection 1 June 2012
第五届中英创业计划大赛正式启动
科技部剑桥郡致贺 面向全球报名
4月25日，第五届中英创业计划大赛启动仪式在伦敦英中贸易协会总部举行。中国科技部副部长曹健林和英国剑桥郡郡长托尼•奥吉专程致信大赛组委会，祝愿本次大赛取得圆满成功。英国议会跨党派中国小组主席、国会议员马克•亨德里克在启动仪式上发言表示，英国与中国的关系非常重要，双方在科技创新合作方面取得了不小的成绩，希望主办方之一的全英中国创业发展协会在中英合作方面作出更多努力，进一步加强两国间的科技交流。
本次大赛将由重庆市科学技术协会、全英中国创业发展协会、共青团重庆市委、天津市科学技术协会主办，英国女王大学、英国约克大学、英国伦敦大学学院、英国兰卡斯特大学承办，英中贸易协会、四川外语学院、天津市泰达国际创业中心、渝中区科协等协办。 本赛事的国际战略合作伙伴为全球最大的创业者网络社区EFactor.com。本次大赛将分别在欧洲、美国与中国进行选拔，以利于更多的学生学者、科技人员和企业家共同参与。
本次大赛将向优秀的科技发明和技术项目提供与风险大财团的对接机会，使参赛团队的高新科技技术及理论付诸实践。在充分展示自我的同时，寻求更多更好合作伙伴。各赛区进入前10名的创业计划将接受有关专家的评审和指导。本次大赛还将联合多家国际和国内创业服务机构、金融机构以及风险投资机构对优秀创业计划提供创业服务及投资服务。
